Our Procedures

Preventive Care is perhaps the most important and probably the least expensive care we provide. Seeing one of our Dental Hygienists regularly, and using good homecare protects your investment. Studies show that many diseases of the body have their origin in the bacteria of the mouth, (over 200 types). Coronary artery disease, a cause of heart attack and stroke, diabetes, liver and bone problems are made much more severe and difficult to care for if bacteria are entering the blood every day through the gum tissue.

We really try to emphasize either using a battery powered or normal electric "WATERPIK" every day, flossing correctly or if needed custom fitted clear trays in which over night antibacterial medication can be placed. We have to reach an agreement on what is best for you and you have to take care of this daily. To neglect this will lead to failure and disappointment. For more information go to www.waterpic.com.

So let's decide to take care of yourself. EXXCL is our product of choice for treatment of gum disease problems. Developed by Dr. Larry Funt of Bethesda, Maryland, this product provides amazing results and is very safe. It's use has been adopted by the US military to deal with wounds with great success. I'm pleased to have Dr. Funt as a friend and mentor in the treatment of Head, Neck, and Facial pain as well as oral infections.

Invisalign
is a great way to improve your smile. If you have crowded or crooked teeth that detract or make you self-conscious, Invisalign is the answer for many of your problems. The clear acrylic "aligners" are practically invisible and they really move the teeth quickly. While this is not the answer to all orthodontic problems, it has a wide range of uses. A new program, Invisalign Teen, is especially suited to teenagers, providing a unique way of monitoring the time wearing the removable trays so changes can be made if necessary to obtain successful results.

Orthodontics General dentists provide over 50% of all orthodontics. Dr. Tipton is a member of the American Orthodontic Society (AOS) and uses the straight wire technique to treat patients' malocclusions. We also refer some difficult cases to various specialists in Morristown, Sevierville, or Knoxville if needed. For more information go to www.orthodontics.com.

Cosmetic Dentistry is something you hear a lot about in the media today. This type of dentistry can involve several different types of care. Veneers, attractive all porcelain crowns, some types of gum treatment, and even orthodontics can be cosmetic. We can make porcelain crowns, crown and bridge work, and even crowns over implants. We like to have an in-depth discussion with patients about what they want to achieve.

All Ceramic Crowns and Veneers are thin covers, made from porcelain or composite resin that usually cover, brighten and reshape the teeth that show when you smile. Sometimes the teeth are prepared for the veneers to be natural looking and some can be placed with little or no preparation.

All ceramic crowns are relatively new in that there is no metal underneath the porcelain. These can be a very strong and beautiful restoration for broken down or stained teeth.

Whitening has become very popular. The best treatments use custom fitted, clear trays in which the whitening solution is placed. Presently our treatment uses types of ZOOM, but we stay up with this constantly improving dental treatment. For more information go to www.zoomwhitening.com.

Restorations About 98% of all the restorations that we place are tooth colored. We like to bond all our restorations, we feel this makes them stronger and most of these materials release a small amount of fluoride to better protect from future decay. Many patients just want to get rid of the "black fillings". Bonded restorations can be different types of resin or porcelain depending of size and location in your mouth.

Partials and Dentures We make a high quality precision partial and full denture for our patients.  You will be pleased with your result.
